Deleting your data
How to remove your data from Doorman, and what happens when you do.
Delete your whole account
Sign in, open Billing, and use Delete account at the bottom of the page. You'll be asked for your password because it cannot be undone.
If you have a paid plan, cancel it first from the same page. We block deletion while a subscription is live, because removing the account here would not stop Stripe charging you.
What gets deleted
- Your account, email and password
- Every bot you created, and everything written into it
- Every conversation and message
- Access tokens for any account you connected, which also stops all access
It happens immediately, and backups roll off within seven days. We keep only two things: a record of payments, because tax law requires it, and the numeric ID of any Instagram account you used on a free trial, so it can't be used for another one. Neither contains any message content.
Delete one bot instead
Open the bot and use Delete at the bottom. That removes the bot, its conversations and its Instagram connection, and leaves the rest of your account alone.
If you messaged a business that uses Doorman
You are not a Doorman customer — the business you messaged is. Doorman only replies inside Instagram; it never emails or texts you, and never messages you first.
To have your messages deleted entirely, ask the business you were talking to, since it is their data to delete. If they don't respond, email us at doorman.chat@gmail.com with the account you messaged and we will handle it.
Disconnecting Instagram
Removing Doorman from Instagram (Settings → Apps and websites) revokes our access at once. That stops the bot but does not delete the conversations already stored — use the steps above for that.
